In March 2026, a tiny 29g Fairy Penguin chick was born at AOAO SAPPORO in Sapporo, Hokkaido.This little one has an older sister — a Fairy Penguin named “Ramune,” who was born in the same aquarium in 2024 and captured everyone’s hearts with her refreshing charm, just like the classic blue soda.Following in her sister’s footsteps, we believe this newborn should be officially named “SODA.”Born to father Sora (Sky) and mother Aqua (Water), SODA carries the clear blue of Hokkaido’s sky and sea.
The name “SODA” is filled with our wish: just like the beloved blue Ramune that brings smiles to people of all ages, we hope SODA will become a refreshing, joyful presence that makes everyone’s heart sparkle.This project is more than just a naming campaign.Our goal is to have “SODA” officially adopted by the aquarium, turn this tiny penguin into a beloved global mascot, and use the power of cuteness to bring more attention, smiles, and energy to the city of Sapporo.It all started with one small 29g miracle — a project full of love for this little penguin and our hometown.
